Cori Bush Memorializes Lives Lost to COVID-19 in St. Louis in Ceremony on the National Mall

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-01) joined Members of Congress at the “In America: Remember” memorial on the National Mall in a ceremony honoring the nearly 700,000 Americans who have passed away from COVID-19. Following a moment of silence, she planted a flag memorializing her neighbors in Missouri’s First District who have tragically lost their lives to the virus.

“Today, St. Louis and I mourned each and every single one of our neighbors in Missouri’s First District and beyond who we lost to COVID-19,”  said Congresswoman Cori Bush. “They were our friends, our family members, and our dear community members. As we miss them with our whole hearts, we continue to work to put an end to the pandemic and save lives.”

The text on the flag reads: The Beloved of Missouri’s 1st District — St. Louis — You deserved better. We miss you. Won’t forget you. We fight for you. Love, Your Congresswoman Cori Bush.
