Office of Congresswoman Cori Bush Statement Ahead of Upcoming Congressional Session Week

Washington, D.C. (June 25, 2024) — A spokesperson for the Office of Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-01) released the following statement ahead of the upcoming congressional session week.

“Following the sudden passing of a loved one, the Congresswoman will remain in St. Louis this week to support her family and loved ones and to attend funeral services. While the Congresswoman is unable to be in D.C. for votes, she opposes the harmful spending bills set for passage this week that are riddled with MAGA extremist poison pills that gut vital programs and attempt to roll back people’s rights, while further injecting more taxpayer dollars into the already bloated military-industrial complex.”

Legislation that is set to come to the floor for passage this week includes: H.R. 8752 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act 2025, H.R. 8771 Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2025, and H.R. 8774  Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2025.
