Congresswoman Bush Announces Permanent Continuation of ‘Congress in Your Neighborhood’ Program

Announcement comes with the expansion of additional Neighborhood Service Center at Natural Bridge Library

St. Louis, Mo. (Sept. 8, 2023) — Yesterday, Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-01) announced that due to the great success of her office’s Congress in Your Neighborhood pilot program, first launched in 2021, the Congresswoman and her team are formally shifting to the permanent continuation of the program. This announcement comes with the expansion of an additional Neighborhood Service Center at the St. Louis County Library - Natural Bridge Branch in Normandy. This will mark the 5th Neighborhood Service Center throughout Congresswoman Bush’s district.

In direct partnership with the St. Louis City and County public libraries, the Neighborhood Service Centers allow the Congresswoman and her team to operate directly out of the communities they serve, therefore, increasing access for community members to receive assistance.

“After the enormous success from the pilot program, I am proud to officially announce that our Congress in Your Neighborhood program is here to stay. Our public libraries often uniquely serve as hubs for our communities. By permanently placing our constituent services teams directly in communities we are serving, we are better positioned to help those who most need us,” said Congresswoman Bush. “It is my hope that this program can be a model for other districts around the country looking to best serve and reach their constituents.”

The Office of Congresswoman Cori Bush's constituent services team provides a wide range of services to Missouri's First District including help with federal agencies, immigration assistance, tax resources, obtaining federal documents, securing passports, military service academy nominations, and more.

St. Louis County Library Director & CEO Kristen Sorth said, “We are pleased to expand the partnership with Congresswoman Bush to provide additional space at the Natural Bridge Branch where individuals can connect one on one to gain greater access to programs and services. St. Louis County Library has become a comprehensive solution for a variety of important resources and services in our region. Partnerships such as this one with Congresswoman Bush helps further strengthen our support for the communities we serve.”
